- Home prices. Newark's median home value is the benchmark. Granville runs much higher because of Denison and its school district; Heath is usually close to Newark.
- Rent. Newark has more rental stock than the surrounding villages. Expect newer apartment communities on the north and west sides and older units near downtown.
- Income. Household income in Newark is below the Columbus figure. Many newer residents earn Columbus or New Albany wages while paying Newark housing costs, which is the trade that makes the commute worth it to them.
