Major Employers in Newark, Ohio and Licking County
Licking County's economy is a mix of healthcare, manufacturing, education, banking, and, increasingly, the data center and semiconductor projects on the county's western edge.
Largest employers in and around Newark
- Licking Memorial Health Systems. The hospital and its physician network, among the largest employers in the county.
- Park National Corporation. A regional bank holding company headquartered in downtown Newark.
- Owens Corning. A manufacturing plant in Newark and the company's Science and Technology Center in Granville.
- Boeing. The Guidance Repair Center in Heath, part of Boeing's defense business, with a cluster of related contractors nearby.
- Newark City Schools, Licking County government, and the City of Newark. The public sector is a large share of local employment.

The New Albany projects
Most of the recent attention is on the western edge of the county, where the New Albany International Business Park straddles the Franklin and Licking County line:
- Intel is building its Ohio One semiconductor fabrication campus in Jersey Township, Licking County. The construction timeline has shifted more than once since the 2022 announcement; check Intel's own Ohio updates for current dates rather than older news coverage.
- Google, Meta, and Amazon Web Services operate or are building data centers in the New Albany area.
- These sites are a 25 to 30 minute drive from Newark. See Commute.
Finding a job locally
- OhioMeansJobs Licking County is the state workforce office in Newark, with job listings and training programs.
- The Licking County Chamber of Commerce and Grow Licking County (the county's economic development organization) track major employers and expansions.
- Check the events calendar for job fairs; COTC and OhioMeansJobs host them regularly.
